FAKING IT GETS CANCELLED AFTER THE THIRD SEASON!!

FAKING IT WILL NOT BE COMING BACK TO MTV!

Fans will have to say goodbye to MTV’s
Faking It after the season-three finale next week. Show creator Carter Covington revealed the show would not be renewed for another run.
Sad news this morning. For all the #FakingIt fans out there, we're so grateful you loved this show as much as we did https://t.co/x3gihbkGt6 — Carter Covington (@mrcartaire) May 13, 2016
140 characters is not enough to express how I feel about this news. I promise #FakingIt fans I'll share what was to come after finale airs — Carter Covington (@mrcartaire) May 13, 2016
The show broke new ground for teen comedies in 2014 by building the plot around a same-sex relationship between BFFs Karma and Amy (Katie Stevens and Rita Volk, respectively).
Openly gay character Shane (Michael J. Willett) also pursued some pretty steamy romances—especially with season two’s Duke (Skyler Maxon).

Art has the ability to change the world. And in some way, we did. Never the same. Never forget. #fakingitforever — Michael Willett (@misterwillett) May 13, 2016

Faking It also featured TV’s first intersex role played by an intersex actor, Amanda Saenz. Transgender actress Laverne Cox even had a special guest role on the series.
MTV has the rights to the show, so Covington doesn’t expect a revival in the future. But he hoped the show’s push for more LGBT diversity will impact other shows on the network.
